PROFILMEX Krzysztof Gronowski is implementing the project titled "Investment activities aimed at improving energy efficiency and increasing the company's production capacity in the transformation area" under measure 09.01 "Economy in Transition". The project is co-financed by the European Just Transition Fund under the Regional Programme European Funds for Łódź 2021–2027.
The main objective of the project is to mitigate the effects of the transition in the Łódź region through economic diversification and restructuring, alleviating negative employment impacts, and improving energy efficiency in line with the EU's 2030 energy and climate targets and toward a climate-neutral EU economy by 2050 in accordance with the Paris Agreement. The investment in modern technical infrastructure will significantly expand the company's product range and, in particular, open up opportunities for complex, technologically advanced orders.
The target group of the project includes: PROFILMEX Krzysztof Gronowski operating in the transformation area defined in the Territorial Just Transition Plan of Łódź Province, and indirectly persons benefiting from the project results, i.e. entrepreneurs and residents of the Transformation Area designated in the Plan, in particular workers of the Bełchatów energy complex at risk of job loss due to the cessation of coal extraction at the Bełchatów Brown Coal Mine and reduced employment at the Bełchatów Power Plant resulting from the entity's change of economic profile.
The project scope includes:
- investment activities to increase the company's production capacity: acquisition of a CNC punching machine. The new fixed asset will enable the company to introduce process and product innovations, expand its range and improve market competitiveness;
- investment activities to improve the company's energy efficiency: acquisition of a photovoltaic installation for the company's own use only;
- activities related to nature protection and climate adaptation: acquisition of services/supplies aimed at implementing nature protection measures;
- indirect costs.
The outcome of the project will be a change in the company's business profile (through diversification/expansion of the offer/building an alternative, complementary income source), introduction of new products and processes with a positive climate impact, and improvement of the company's energy efficiency.
